Besides Cognac there are plenty other fine beverages you can drink and collect. Honestly there are way too much. I try to stick on French ones in my slowly growing collection. Anyway let´s get to this one: Moët & Chandon Brut “be fabulous” edition, many stores also call it the Swarovski edition.
Its first release was in 2006, after Moët and Swarovski teamed up to create a real beautiful and even more sparkling bottle. I bought mine in 2010 for 45 Euros in an online store, since I checked the web I think the retail selling of this bottle started in fall of 2009.
Update 01.01.2012: The imperial size beginns to change. The champagne looses its gas and begins to change its colour to gold. If you like to drink it, you should do it pretty fast…
All websites say it is an extremely rare limited edition, I guess that’s right if you compare it to the regular Imperial bottle. Almost all online shops had it in their inventory, so you can make the math on your own.
Fall begins and as far as I can see it, the 750ml bottle is sold out. It was sold between 40 and 70 Euros online. Sometimes you could get a bundle with a matching chiller or a black box. Mine came without box and I need no chiller, we drink fast, so in no way the champagne will get warm under any circumstances.
The bundle with chiller ranged between 65 and 80 Euros. These are the bottles I found so far with Swarovski crystals:
Imperial 750 ml 40 to 70 Euro, almost sold out, but you can get them quite cheap on ebay.
Magnum 1500 ml about 80 to 100 Euro
Jeroboam 3000ml starting at 280 Euro
Methusalem 6000ml starting at 600+ Euro
I´m sure the be fabulous edt. was available in all known sizes of champagne bottles, but I only found the ones above. You can get the Magnum wit a chiller and the sizes up to that come in black wodden box.
It´s pretty hard to show, but the Swarovski crystal do sparkle really nice, woman like them so much that they sometimes decorate their room with the empty ones. It looks great, no question, but there is one problem with adding this one to your collection:
One day you will have to choose, if you drink it or not because the champagne will lose its good taste. One website said that you should drink this edt. between 2012 and 2016. It might work if you store them right, but you do not know how the seller treated them…
I had two of those already and one was not that tasty anymore. Gas was missing and the usual bubble typhoon in the glass did not show up… I guess the best before date for the 750ml ones is the 31.12.2012.
I do not know if that is true but some people say the bigger the bottle, the longer the champagne will last. I would recommend if you have any questions about storing your champagne just write an email to Moet or the other producers . The web has two completely different side of views to that.
Thank you for clicking by, I got one bottle left for sale if you are interested. Feel free to leave a comment!
